Airtable

Build a lead database in Airtable that fills itself

A spreadsheet logs a lead. Airtable lets you group by channel, filter by status, and link a lead to a campaigns table. That only works if the source lands as structured data, not a string someone typed differently every time.

What this connection does

Deliberately not the Google Sheets page: Airtable people chose Airtable because they want views, filters, and linked records. Once the source lands as structured data, you can group leads by channel, build a view per client, or link a lead to a campaigns table, none of which a plain sheet does well.

Setting it up

01

Pre-create your Source options

Before touching Zapier, add the Source field as Single select and create the options you expect: Google Ads, Organic Search, Direct, Referral, Facebook/Instagram Ads, Other.

02

Open the Zap template and connect both accounts

Use the embed below, or open the template directly on Zapier. Connect Lead Recorder as the trigger and your Airtable base as the action.

03

Map each field

Match each Lead Recorder field to its column using the table above.

04

Send a test lead

Submit a form or click-to-call on your own site and confirm the record lands with the right Source option selected, not a Zap error.

What catches people out

What catches people out

Single-select fields reject values that don't already exist as options. If Source is a Single select and Zapier tries to write “Google Ads” before that option exists, the Zap errors instead of creating it. Pre-create the categories you expect before the first real lead arrives. This is the real difference from the Sheets page, and the reason these two pages aren't duplicates of each other.
