This page covers cookies and similar browser storage used on leadrecorder.comand the Lead Recorder dashboard — our own site. It does not cover the tracking script you install on your own website; that's addressed separately below and in our Privacy Policy.

What we use, and why

Like most SaaS sites, we use a handful of third-party analytics and advertising tools to understand traffic and measure our own marketing. These load automatically when you visit leadrecorder.com and set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser:

Google Analytics (GA4)

Measures site traffic and behaviour — pages visited, referrer, general location. Sets cookies such as _ga and _gid.

Microsoft Clarity

Session recording and heatmaps, so we can see where visitors get stuck on the site. Sets cookies such as _clck and _clsk.

Meta Pixel

Measures the performance of our Facebook/Instagram ads and lets us build retargeting audiences. Sets the _fbp cookie.

TikTok Pixel

Measures the performance of our TikTok ads. Sets the _ttp cookie.

Tidio (live chat)

Powers the chat widget on our site, and remembers your conversation if you message us.

Our own storage

We use your browser's localStorageto remember that you've dismissed the cookie notice, and sessionStorage to recognise, for the length of a single visit, that you arrived from a paid ad — this shows you a simpler, faster-loading page during that visit. Neither is shared with anyone.

About the cookie banner

The banner you see on first visit is a notice, not a preference centre — dismissing it doesn't change which of the above load, and none of them are essential to using the site. If you want to prevent them from running, use your browser's cookie or tracking-protection settings, or the opt-outs below.

The tracking script on your website

The Lead Recorder snippet you add to your own site is different — it doesn't use cookies at all. It stores session data in the visitor's browser using localStorage, as described in our Privacy Policy. Cookies aren't the only mechanism GDPR and similar laws care about, though — if any of your own site's visitors are in the EU or UK, you're responsible for having a lawful basis and appropriate disclosure for that tracking, the same way you would for any other analytics tool on your site.
