What this connection does
Every time Lead Recorder logs a new lead, a Zap adds a row to a Google Sheet you choose, with the lead's name, contact details, and where they came from already filled in. Nobody opens the dashboard, copies anything, or remembers to do it. The sheet fills itself in, in real time.
Already have a lead tracking sheet ready to go
Our free lead tracking spreadsheet template already has the right column headers, plus a Pipeline Summary tab that totals things up automatically. Copy it, point the Zap at your copy, and the columns already match.
Field mapping
What each Lead Recorder trigger field maps to in the sheet.
| Lead Recorder field | Google Sheet column | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| submittedAt | Date | When the lead came in |
| nameField | Name | One combined name, not split first/last |
| emailField | Blank for phone-click leads | |
| phoneNumber | Phone | |
| utmSource | Source | |
| utmCampaign | Campaign | |
| formPage | Page |
Setting it up
Set up your header row first
Open the free lead tracking template (or your own sheet) and lay out the header row before you touch Zapier: Date, Name, Email, Phone, Source, Campaign, Page, in that order.
Open the Zap template and connect both accounts
Use the embed below, or open the template directly on Zapier. Connect your Lead Recorder account as the trigger and your Google account as the action.
Map each column
Match each Lead Recorder field to its column using the table above. Zapier remembers this mapping by column position, which matters later, see the gotcha below.
Turn it on and send a test lead
Submit a test form or click-to-call on your own site, then check that the row landed in the right columns before you rely on it.
What catches people out
What catches people out
Column order is fixed once the Zap is built. Set up your headers before you build the Zap, not after. If you insert a new column later, Zapier keeps writing to the position it was first configured against, so data starts landing under the wrong header with no error to warn you.
Phone-click leads have no email. Nobody types an email address to tap a phone number, so that column will be blank for those rows. Leave it blank rather than filtering those leads out, the rest of the row is still worth having.
