Gemini's custom app support is new and limited. Right now, connecting a custom app requires:

Open Gemini's settings on desktop
Go to gemini.google.com on a desktop browser, then open Settings and help from the menu.
Find Custom apps for Spark
In Settings and help, go to Connected Apps and look for the "Custom apps for Spark" section.
Add Lead Recorder as a custom app
Click Add a custom app and paste https://mcp.leadrecorder.com. If the server doesn't complete Dynamic Client Registration automatically, expand Advanced features and enter the connection details manually.

What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting AI assistants like Gemini to external tools and data sources. Lead Recorder runs its own remote MCP server, at mcp.leadrecorder.com, so Gemini can query your account directly once it's added as a custom app.
Who can connect Lead Recorder to Gemini right now?
Only accounts that currently have access to Gemini's custom app support: Gemini Spark, a personal Google account rather than a work or school account, 18 or over, located in the US, with Gemini set to English. This rules out most users outside the US, including Australia, for now.
What can Gemini actually see?
Only what the connecting user could already see by logging in: site names and domains, plus aggregated lead counts and breakdowns. No tool returns an individual lead's name, email, or phone number.
Can Gemini change anything in my account?
Only one thing: it can add a new site and hand back its tracking snippet, restricted to account admins. It can't edit or delete anything that already exists. The other four tools are read-only.
Is this an official Google or Gemini integration?
No. There is no Google directory listing or approval process behind this. You're adding Lead Recorder yourself as a custom app, the same way you'd add any other custom MCP server to Gemini Spark.
Is this different from the Zapier or Make integration?
Yes. The Gemini connector mostly returns aggregated data, with adding a new site as the one exception. The Zapier/Make integration is a trigger that does expose per-lead contact details, since its job is to push new leads into other tools.
Does this cost extra?
No, it's included on every plan, including the free one. It uses the same underlying API as the Zapier/Make integration, issued from its own key so revoking one never affects the other.
How do I disconnect it?
Remove the custom app from Gemini's Connected Apps settings, or revoke the key from Account → API access at any time.
