We'll crawl this page plus up to two linked contact, booking, or service pages. Takes a few seconds.
Stop guessing which calls are leads
Lead Recorder tracks every phone tap, form fill and booking click automatically — tied to the campaign that actually drove it.
Try Lead Recorder freeMost sites have phone numbers nobody is counting
Phone leads are the majority, not the exception
Across 1,145 real enquiries we analysed, 52.7% came through a phone tap — not a form. Most tracking setups are built almost entirely around forms.
A tel: link works fine with zero tracking
The call goes through either way, so nobody notices anything is missing. There's no error, no broken page — just a lead that never shows up in a report.
It compounds across every channel
If phone taps aren't tracked, every channel that drives them — paid search, local SEO, referrals — looks like it's converting worse than it actually is.
Click-to-call scanner, explained
What does this tool actually check?
It fetches the live HTML of the URL you enter, plus up to two linked pages that look like contact, booking, or service pages, the same way a browser would on first load. It looks for tel: links, phone numbers written as plain text, forms, embedded booking widgets (Calendly, Acuity, Square, HoneyBook, Setmore), and known tracking scripts (GA4, Google Tag Manager, CallRail, WhatConverts, Nimbata, Ringba, Lead Recorder).
Why does an untracked tel: link matter so much?
Because it's invisible in your reporting by default. A visitor taps a phone number, calls, and becomes a customer — and nothing in GA4 or your ad platform ever records that it happened. Based on 1,145 real enquiries we analysed, 52.7% of leads come through phone taps, so an untracked click-to-call setup can mean more than half your leads are simply never counted.
How does the score get calculated?
Each check — tel: link tracking, unlinked phone numbers, form attribution, booking link tracking, GA4/GTM installation, and dedicated call/lead tracking — carries a weight. A check only counts toward the score if it applies to that site (a site with no forms isn't penalised for form tracking). The score is the share of applicable weight the site earned.
Can it tell if a tel: link has a working click handler?
It looks for an onclick attribute or common tracking data-attributes written directly into the link's HTML, and for the presence of a call tracking script anywhere on the page (most call tracking tools instrument every tel: link automatically once installed, rather than editing each one by hand). It can't execute JavaScript, so a handler attached dynamically after page load by a script we don't recognise may be missed.
What about single-page apps that inject tracking with JavaScript?
This scans the initial server-rendered HTML, not the fully hydrated, client-side-rendered page. If your site is a React, Vue, or similar SPA that injects phone numbers or tracking purely via client-side JavaScript after load, this tool may not see them even though they work in a real browser. Treat a low score on a JS-heavy site as a prompt to double-check manually.
Do you store the sites I scan?
No. The HTML is fetched, scanned in memory, and discarded — nothing is saved on our servers. The "recent scans" list you see is saved to your own browser's local storage only.
Why did my scan fail or come back incomplete?
Some sites block automated requests behind bot protection (Cloudflare, WAFs) or take too long to respond within our request window. A failed or partial scan usually means the site refused or was too slow to answer, not that anything is necessarily wrong with its tracking setup.
