Connecting Google Ads to Lead Recorder

How to connect Google Ads and see the exact campaign, ad group, and search term behind every paid lead.

Without this integration, a paid lead just shows up labelled "Google Ads" — you know money brought them in, but not which campaign or keyword actually worked. Connecting Google Ads fills that gap by matching each paid lead to the specific campaign, ad group, and search term that drove the click.

What you need

  • Admin access to the site in Lead Recorder
  • A Google account with access to the Google Ads account you run traffic through

How to connect

  1. 1Open your site's dashboard and click Integrations.
  2. 2Click Connect next to Google Ads.
  3. 3Sign in with the Google account that has access to your Ads account, and grant the requested permission.
  4. 4You'll be redirected back to your dashboard, connected.

If your Google account manages several accounts through a manager account (an MCC), Lead Recorder looks at what that login can see and picks a sensible one automatically. If there's more than one candidate, you'll get a dropdown to pick the right one.

What it looks for

When someone clicks a Google ad, Google automatically appends a click identifier to the landing page URL. That identifier is how Lead Recorder recognises a lead came from a specific ad click in the first place, and it's what gets matched back to Google Ads' own campaign data to fill in the details — a definitive match, not a guess.

How syncing works

  • Right after you connect, Lead Recorder immediately looks at your recent leads and fills in what it can — no waiting required.
  • After that, it checks for new or still-pending leads automatically every few hours.
  • Campaign data is generally only available for leads from the last 90 days. Older leads that never resolved will show as unavailable rather than staying stuck on pending.

Tip: Occasionally a lead stays on "pending" for a little while after connecting — Google's own reporting can take a day or so to catch up on very recent clicks.
