How to manually log a phone call lead
How to add a lead to Lead Recorder when a customer calls instead of filling out a form.
Not every lead comes through a form. When someone calls you directly, you can log it manually so it sits alongside your other leads.
How to log a phone call lead
- 1Open your Lead Recorder dashboard and select the site.
- 2Click the Add lead button (or the phone icon) near the top of the leads list.
- 3Enter the caller's name and any details you have: phone number, notes.
- 4Select the lead source if you know it. If they said they found you on Google, pick Organic.
- 5Click Save.
Manually logged leads show a phone icon so you can tell them apart from automatically tracked form submissions.
Tips
- Ask callers how they found you and log the source for accurate attribution.
- Log the call right after it ends while the details are fresh.
- Add notes about the conversation so you have context for follow-up.
Tip: If you use a call tracking number like CallRail, you can still log the lead manually and attribute it to the correct campaign.
