How to manually log a phone call lead

How to add a lead to Lead Recorder when a customer calls instead of filling out a form.

Not every lead comes through a form. When someone calls you directly, you can log it manually so it sits alongside your other leads.

How to log a phone call lead

  1. 1Open your Lead Recorder dashboard and select the site.
  2. 2Click the Add lead button (or the phone icon) near the top of the leads list.
  3. 3Enter the caller's name and any details you have: phone number, notes.
  4. 4Select the lead source if you know it. If they said they found you on Google, pick Organic.
  5. 5Click Save.

Manually logged leads show a phone icon so you can tell them apart from automatically tracked form submissions.

Tips

  • Ask callers how they found you and log the source for accurate attribution.
  • Log the call right after it ends while the details are fresh.
  • Add notes about the conversation so you have context for follow-up.

Tip: If you use a call tracking number like CallRail, you can still log the lead manually and attribute it to the correct campaign.
